Thank you Rev Riders!

A group of around 30 BG supporters mounted bikes at Define on Sunday afternoon to join BG parent, Natalie Buck, for her one hour, high intensity Rev class.

We emerged an hour later a little sweatier but happy we had raised money for our fantastic school.

Thanks riders!

Statoil sponsored the event and sent over 60 volunteers to help the girls plant trees.

What a fantastic effort…a big thanks to Trees for Houston, Statoil, Girl Scout Troup 149017 (led by Emily Schulz) and all of those that contributed!

A big thank you to the Economides for making the spaghetti, The Oaks for donating the garlic bread and Carrabbas for the yummy salad (while it lasted). A big shout out to Ms. Scott in the kitchen, Robby and Melvin for helping us clean up.  And we couldn’t have done it without all of the PTO volunteers…thank you!

Welcome to the Briargrove Elementary PTO Website!

We hope you like our new website and find it easy to navigate. Read on to find out why you should volunteer your time, treasure and talent to support Briargrove Elementary.

Almost 60 years ago four dedicated parents came together to form an organization to support a new public school that was being built for our community. The Briargrove Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was established to create a strong, collaborative partnership between the faculty, staff and parents and to contribute to the education and development of our children as citizens, scholars and leaders in a safe neighborhood environment.

All these many years later, Briargrove Elementary is just that – an excellent example of neighborhood only education and a model for parent volunteerism, collaboration and support not only in Houston, but on state and national levels as well. We are one of the most culturally diverse schools in HISD with thirty-seven different languages spoken, which make us a true reflection of the world around us.

So how can you help? if you are interested in volunteering with the PTO, please check out the “Meet Your 2016-2017 Briargrove Elementary PTO Board” http://briargrovepto.com/info/board-members where you’ll find our contact information for various committees and board positions. We’d love to have your help!

We all LIVE LOCAL and LEARN LOCAL, which is so rare in education today. By contributing your time, treasure and talent you are impacting our whole community and ensuring that our sixtieth birthday year will be one of the best.

Thanks so much for visiting our site! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Go Briargrove!
