Thank you Rev Riders!

A group of around 30 BG supporters mounted bikes at Define on Sunday afternoon to join BG parent, Natalie Buck, for her one hour, high intensity Rev class.

Statoil sponsored the event and sent over 60 volunteers to help the girls plant trees.

What a fantastic effort…a big thanks to Trees for Houston, Statoil, Girl Scout Troup 149017 (led by Emily Schulz) and all of those that contributed!

Almost 60 years ago four dedicated parents came together to form an organization to support a new public school that was being built for our community. The Briargrove Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was established to create a strong, collaborative partnership between the faculty, staff and parents and to contribute to the education and development of our children as citizens, scholars and leaders in a safe neighborhood environment.

All these many years later, Briargrove Elementary is just that – an excellent example of neighborhood only education and a model for parent volunteerism, collaboration and support not only in Houston, but on state and national levels as well. We are one of the most culturally diverse schools in HISD with thirty-seven different languages spoken, which make us a true reflection of the world around us.

So how can you help? if you are interested in volunteering with the PTO, please check out the “Meet Your 2016-2017 Briargrove Elementary PTO Board” where you’ll find our contact information for various committees and board positions. We’d love to have your help!

We all LIVE LOCAL and LEARN LOCAL, which is so rare in education today. By contributing your time, treasure and talent you are impacting our whole community and ensuring that our sixtieth birthday year will be one of the best.

Thanks so much for visiting our site! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Go Briargrove!
